About Us
LiteTools is a free collection of 34 browser-based calculators and utilities covering finance, health, images, text processing and everyday productivity. Every tool runs entirely on your own device. Nothing you type is ever uploaded, and no account is required.
Who runs this site
LiteTools is operated by an independent developer rather than a company. That means there is no support department, but it also means every correction email is read and answered by a person. The site launched in 2026 and is updated weekly.
The goal is deliberately narrow: take the handful of things people actually calculate or convert every day and make them fast, private and free. Thirty-four tools is a curated list, not an attempt at maximum coverage. Each one corresponds to a real, recurring need.
Why the tools run in your browser
Every tool on this site is implemented in plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no framework and no third-party analytics. The calculation logic lives in the page, so once the code has loaded your browser does not need to talk to our servers again.
Three practical consequences follow from that:
- No sign-up — nothing to register, nothing to log into, no waiting on an API
- Works offline — load the page, disconnect, and the tool still works
- No tracking — we set no first-party tracking cookies and build no profile from what you enter
The trade-off is that some tools, such as image compression, take longer on a low-end device. That is a deliberate choice: privacy and reliability over speed.
How accuracy is handled
Getting a number wrong would defeat the purpose of the site, so each tool follows the same process:
- Sourcing — formulas come from published authorities. Federal tax brackets come from the IRS, amortization formulas follow standard industry practice, and BMR uses the widely cited Mifflin-St Jeor equation.
- Cross-checking — results are verified against known answers. The mortgage calculator is checked against published amortization examples so the first payment, the final balance clearing to zero and the total interest all reconcile.
- Stating limitations — every tool page explains what the algorithm does not account for. The ROI calculator does not forecast returns. The savings calculator assumes a constant rate.
- Tracking changes — when regulations or rates change, the logic and the accompanying text are updated.
Editorial boundaries
These are the rules we hold ourselves to, so this does not become a content farm:
- No invented figures. Every number is either from a published source or output by the tool itself.
- No filler for publishing cadence. Articles are written when there is genuine demand, not to hit a quota.
- Dated content. Anything time-sensitive carries the date it was last checked.
- Corrections are welcome. If something is wrong, tell us and we will fix it publicly.
Advertising and independence
This site is funded entirely by advertising through Google AdSense. A few things worth stating plainly:
- We do not hand-pick which ads appear. Content is decided by the advertiser and may be unrelated to our topics.
- Advertising revenue has no influence on how a calculator computes. No advertiser can buy a better answer.
- We do not gate results behind payment.
- We decline advertising unrelated to our subject matter — loan brokers, supplements, gambling — regardless of what they bid.
Known limitations of this site
- Not a professional organisation. LiteTools is not a bank, brokerage, tax agency, medical practice or law firm. Output is reference information, not professional advice.
- Regulatory updates are not instantaneous. We try to stay current but cannot guarantee real-time accuracy. For material amounts, confirm with the official source.
- General-purpose formulas. The calculators handle common scenarios, not complex cases such as multi-currency or cross-border tax.
- No support team. A one-person site. Replies may take a few days, but every message is read.
