Terms of Use

These terms form the agreement between you and this site when you use LiteTools. Last updated: 20 October 2026.

1. The service

LiteTools provides free online calculators, converters and text-processing utilities for personal everyday use. There is no registration, no charge and no paywall.

2. Licence to use

You may use every tool on this site freely, including for commercial calculation and conversion, without permission or attribution.

You may not:

• reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the calculation logic, except where execution is plainly visible in the browser
• copy, mirror or scrape the pages and republish them as your own product
• send automated high-frequency requests that degrade service for other users
• use the tools for unlawful activity, including document forgery, fraud or distributing illegal content

3. Using the formulas and algorithms

The formulas, parameters and implementation are freely usable:

• The formulas themselves — standard mathematics and finance, such as the amortisation equation or Mifflin-St Jeor — are free for anyone to implement and we claim no exclusive right.
• Our implementation — view it, copy it, use it in your own project, no attribution required. Our only request is that you tell us if you find a calculation bug.
• Our defaults and choices — which rate to use, which formula variant to prefer and why, are original expression you are welcome to reference.

In short: take it and use it. One aim of this site is to make these methods widely understood.

4. Intellectual property

The page structure, written content, iconography, implementation code, and the name “LiteTools” and its associated branding are owned by this site and protected by copyright.

The underlying formulas are not protected as such. Formula selection logic, default parameter values and explanatory text are original expression.

5. The specific boundaries of section 2

The following are the practices we consider breaches and do not accept:

• Full-site mirroring — scraping all pages and redeploying them under another domain, including stripping ads for commercial gain
• Reselling assets — packaging pages or articles into a paid product
• Load testing — scripted high-frequency traffic beyond normal use
• Malicious embedding — using the tools on sites containing fraud, deceptive downloads or malicious code
• Impersonation — registering similar domains or services to mislead users

The test is whether the use harms this site or its users, not literal keyword matching. Quotation, linking and screenshots for review or study are fine.

6. Regulatory information

Content covering tax, social security and retirement rules is an organised presentation of information, not an official publication. It may contain interpretive imprecision, may not reflect the very latest change, and does not establish whether any provision applies to your situation. Consult the primary source: the IRS, the relevant agency, or your national authority.

7. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for what you enter into these tools and warrant that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or break the law. You must exercise independent judgement about any conclusion you draw from the results.

8. Disclaimer and limitation

Results are reference estimates produced by general-purpose formulas from the inputs you supply. They are not investment, medical, legal, tax or accounting advice. The detailed scope is set out in our disclaimer.

The service is provided as-is. We are not liable for outcomes arising from regulatory change making a calculation outdated, from misuse or misreading of results, or from service interruption caused by force majeure, network failure or third-party outages.

9. Region and language

The English edition is written for an international audience and its tax and employment examples follow common US practice. The Chinese edition follows current PRC regulations. These are entirely different systems — do not mix figures between them. If your jurisdiction has specific requirements, local rules prevail.

10. Privacy

Using these tools involves no account, so there is no risk of registered information being compromised. Note however that our not collecting input data does not mean third-party advertisers do not collect browsing information. Advertising involves the AdSense cookie mechanism described in section 3 of our privacy policy.

11. Changes

Substantial changes to these terms, such as a shift in the scope of the liability limitation, will be announced on the site. Editorial corrections do not require notice; continued use indicates acceptance of the current version.

12. Governing law and disputes

Please raise concerns through the contact page first; most disagreements stem from differing interpretation and resolve quickly in conversation. If we cannot reach agreement, the governing law is that of the operator’s jurisdiction, and disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of its competent courts.
