đ Age Calculator
Your exact age in years, months and days â and how long until your next birthday.
How to use the Age Calculator
Enter a date of birth to get your exact age in years, months and days, plus total days lived and the next birthday countdown.
How it works
Exact age is computed by calendar difference rather than by dividing days, which is why 365.25-day arithmetic drifts from the true answer over long spans. Leap days are the reason: a person born on 29 February is legally treated differently depending on the jurisdiction and the year of the birthday, and this tool follows the common convention of treating 1 March as the anniversary in non-leap years.
When to use it
Use it to fill out forms accurately, to check eligibility for age-based programs, or to settle a friendly disagreement about who is older.
Worked example
Someone born 15 June 1990, checked on 20 October 2026:
| Measure | Value |
|---|---|
| Exact age | 36 years, 4 months, 5 days |
| Total days lived | 13,243 |
| Next birthday | in 238 days |
| Day of week born | Friday |
Assumptions and limitations
Calendar systems differ across regions; this uses the Gregorian calendar. For legal purposes in some jurisdictions the day of birth counts as day one and the day of death is not counted, which can shift the result by one day. Verify against official documentation for anything consequential.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is my exact age calculated?
Years and months are counted first, then leftover days â borrowing days from the previous month when needed, which mirrors how birthdays work on a calendar.
Why do other tools show a slightly different age?
Some calculators count total days Ãˇ 365.25 or ignore month lengths. This tool uses calendar-aware logic, so the years/months/days breakdown matches your birthday.
How many days until my next birthday?
The result shows your next birthday date and the exact day countdown â calculated from the "age at date" you set (today by default).
